There can be a lot to consider when looking for your wedding dress but our stylists are here to help guide you and make the process of finding your dress a breeze! It can be helpful to break down each element of a dress to truly work out what feels right for you. When coming for an appointment at AH these are the 6 things we will ask you to consider when trying our designs.
1. Neckline
Do you prefer more coverage with a higher neck? Or would you like to highlight this area with a v-neck, square neck or strapless design?
Tip: deep V-necks are great for drawing the eye to the waist and create a lengthening line through the body
2. Skirt Shape
Try different skirt shapes to see what you feel most comfortable in. An a-lineskims over the hips whilst a bias cut will define them.
Tip: try shapes outside your comfort zone, if you’re used to wearing a-line, try a straight cut or bias, you may be surprised!
3. Straps
The style of strap you choose will have a big impact on the overall feel of your dress. Spaghetti straps naturally feel more open/relaxed whilst a wider strap is great for support and adds a touch of formality
Tip: Create a transitional look by layering strap dresses with our bridal tops, capes & jackets!
4. Sleeves
There are so many wonderful wedding dress with sleeves. Choose your length, style and fabrics. These can be part of your dress or added with a bridal top or jacket.
Tip: Sheer silk sleeves in a chiffon, georgette or organza are perfect for the warmer month. they create a veiling over the arm but are light and comfortable
5. Backs
Do you love the look of a low back? Perhaps you would like this to be the key feature of your dress with lace detailing or you may prefer a higher back with buttons & loops?
Tip: there is always an underwear solution to work with the backs of our dresses, if you need support we can help find the best options for you without compromising on the style you love
6. Fabrics
We work with the finest natural silks and French lace. Think about whether you would like one fabric throughout or whether you would prefer to add textural interest with lace or beading.
Tip: Our silks come in a satin finish and a matte finish. make sure you explore both to see which feels the most you!
