At AH all of our dresses are made to order for our wonderful brides, created by our very talented and experienced team in our London studio. Quite simply Made to Measure means your dress or bridal outfit is made to your specific body measurements as opposed to a UK dress size.
As we are working to your personal body measurements we can ensure the sizing is accurate but also that your bust darts, waist line, back length and body length are all perfect for you.
By opting for our Made to Measure service you can make adaptions and changes to your dress design. For example lowering the back, raising a neckline and mixing styles such as the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another. It ensures you have flexibility with design and the capability to add or take away details, such as sleeves or changing neckline shapes.

Using our made to measure service ensures the fit of your dress is perfect for your wedding day.
It gives you the opportunity to decide on your fit and finishes during the fittings schedule, working with our experienced team to guide you through all elements of your dress.
It ensures you have flexibility with design and the capability to add or take away details, such as sleeves or changing neckline shapes.
What is my fittings process?
We will arrange your fittings schedule with you, typically starting 12 to 6 months before your wedding date.
You will first visit our studio for your measurements, where we will also finalise any details and arrange your fabric swatches to assist with your other wedding choices such as your wedding shoes.
We will then create your made to measure pattern for your wedding dress and make your prototype toile. Your toile is a first version of your dress shape, typically made from cotton, which we will fit to you to ensure your dress shape is perfect before proceeding to silk.
After your toile fitting we finalise your pattern before we cut your natural silks. All our dresses are cut by hand and fully made in our London studio.
Your 1st silk fit will follow, where your dress will be made to the first stage. This fitting will asses the overall fit of your dress in silk, final amendments and bringing all finishing touches together.
Your final fitting will showcase your finished dress, with all final details complete. Collection or delivery of your dress will be arranged in timing of your wedding day. Your dress will be steamed and packed in preparation.

Andrea and her talented team created my dream dress. After a full day of unsuccessful and tiring bridal dress shopping, we found AH on our second day of searching and knew we had found my dressmaker.
The option to create a more bespoke version of a combination of other dresses I had seen and liked, but made in-house in London and in the most beautiful silk, really gave me the best of all worlds and an approach that seemed unique compared to a lot of the rest of the market.
